How I find my bucket list dahlias

Dahlias are all the rave right now; especially since Floret popularized it with it’s gorgeous photos for her flower business. My obsession with dahlias started the spring before my daughter was to be married. I ordered from Lynch Creek my very first year and had success with growing them.

The next year I ordered from places like Dahlia Barn, Swan Island, and Floret. My hunger to find certain colors, and varieties increased, therefore increasing my pursuit to find colors that would be perfect for my design work.

I then started my google search and found a limited number of dahlia tubers for sale. My next step was searching on Facebook for dahlia and flower farms. A lot of times you can find nice resources there and also by joining Dahlia buy, sell, and trade groups.

Another way is through a great resource called Dahlia Addict, they give you the supplier names and their websites and when their sales begin. They have a list of varieties as well as an alphabetical listing of the names of each dahlia available and what farms offer them.

I hope this helps you find your bucket list variety. Happy Hunting. Be sure to follow me and share with your flower loving friends. Also visit my Facebook page and like our page. Thank you and enjoy!
